Description of Service
Ongoing 11+ tuition service. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening between 4.30pm – 6.30pm at 6 Minster Way, Upminster Bridge. RM11 3TH.
 
Other tuition services can be scheduled according to individual requirements. 

We can provide homework help/ activities, if you need to drop your child off early, for a small charge.  

 
Expectations

At Left Hand Thread, we have a culture of excellence, high expectations and enjoyment. We strive to create an environment where pupils are stimulated and challenged. Tutors lead by example and demand high standards of attention, behaviour and effort. We cultivate a spirit of inquiry so that pupils learn to think for themselves and question what they are told.

 
Punctuality, Attendance and Behaviour

Every effort must be made to drop pupils off and pick them up punctually. If this is not possible, please message the tutor as soon as possible. 

 
If pupils are going to be absent for any reason, please notify the tutor as soon as possible.
 
If, for any reason, lessons need to be changed or cancelled, tutors will notify parents as soon as possible, 
 

At Left Hand Thread, there are very high expectations regarding behaviour. This is a place of learning: respect must be given to tutors and other students. This includes the use of good manners and respectful turn-taking. Our tutors will model and reinforce these practices in the classroom and any behavioural issues will be discussed with parents as soon as possible after any incidents. 

 
Homework

Homework will be set most weeks. This will usually involve researching an upcoming theme or consolidating the understanding of a topic/method covered in class, reading or online set tasks. Homework will be sent home in a homework folder, which must be returned each lesson. 

 

If pupils are unable to complete homework for any reason please leave a message for the tutor. Homework should be completed promptly in order to embed the learning and positive habits.

 
Payment schedule

Invoices will be sent out at the end of each month for the upcoming month. These should be paid in full at the beginning of each month (by the end of the first week). If this is not possible for any reason, it is really important that you speak to us in advance. 

 
Missed lessons will not normally be refunded unless by prior arrangement. 
 
In the event that lessons are cancelled by us, parents will receive a full refund.

Voucher Terms:  

As a welcome and an incentive, we will present you and your friend with a £50 voucher when your friend stays with us and pays for a second month.  

You can use the voucher for your own family or pass it on to a friend if you prefer.
