Robust Eleven Plus Courses
Learning with Left Hand Thread Academy is a lively adventure, with friendly, nurturing teachers, but students have plenty of opportunity to sit mock tests to prepare them for their big day.
We love that children of this age are so keen to be recognised for their hard work and achievements so we have a range of incentives that will help to motivate them along this learning journey.
And, don’t worry about needing to remember lots of extra books and equipment: we’ll provide them with most of the resources they need to make your life a bit easier!
Our eleven plus course runs on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings and a full-day Saturday is coming soon. Contact us so that we can notify you.
In these courses, your child will be challenged and will recieve a well-rounded education, with a wealth of interesting and practical resources, to prepare them for September exams.
- We teach Verbal Reasoning, Non-verbal Reasoning, Maths, English & Creative Writing.
- All of our eleven plus students have access to fabulous online quizzes and test questions. Data from these enable us to determine in which areas they may need extra support.
- Enjoy regular feedback about your child’s progress.
Ks2, 3 & 4
For those insprational lightbulb moments, join us for Maths, English and Science tuition.
We teach in small groups and encourage a collaborative team spirit so our lessons are fun and engaging with a focus on achieving higher level exam grades. But, importantly, we want our students to enjoy learning and be able to research and debate their ideas to prepare them for a productive adult life and a vibrant future.
All of our students have access to online quizzes which help to refresh their knowledge in all curriculum areas.
Exam study workshops are available and will be scheduled in due course.
Daytime workshops and online lessons are also available. Contact us and we’ll do our best to help you.
Students are given their own folders to help keep them organised and so that you have one less thing to worry about.
School Holiday Workshops
School holiday workshops, at Left Hand Thread Academy, are a time for fun combined with holistic learning. Our focus is on learning about the world around us and how we can make a positive impact.
Life skills & communication are always at the top of our agenda and children & young people are welcomed to participate in our project learning programmes to learn more about themselves and how they fit into an ever-changing and often confusing world.
If your child is studying for the 11+ exams, this can be the perfect compliment to their studies to encourage enhanced general knowledge skills.
For older students, exam preparation days are a real asset to boost their strategic skills and confidence.
